USGA Women's Championships

Brae Burn Country Club is proud to bring women’s national championship golf back to the Boston area as host club for the 2024 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur and the 2028 U.S. Women’s Amateur.

The U.S. Women’s Amateur is the premier championship for women amateur golfers, attracting college all stars and elite players from the US and around the world. First held in 1895, the U.S. Women’s Amateur is one of USGA’s three original national championships. The winner is awarded the distinctive Robert Cox trophy.

The U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur is the premier amateur championship for women 25 and older. The winner is awarded the Prunaret Trophy, which was donated by Brae Burn member Mildred Gardinor Prunaret, former Chair of the USGA Women’s Golf Committee.

We believe this national championship series can shine a light on women champions of the past and the future. We hope these events will attract a broad and diverse community across the Greater Boston area, including experienced golfers and those for whom the game is still new.
