On behalf of the entire membership and staff we extend a warm welcome to you upon your upcoming visit to Brae Burn. Our goal is to facilitate an enjoyable and relaxing day at the Club for both you and your host. Please see a summary of our policies to help with your visit. 

Golf Policies

Dress Code:
Proper attire shall be worn on the practice range, putting green and golf courses. For men, collared shirts and Bermuda-length shorts are minimally acceptable attire. For women, golf attire normally sold in the Golf Shop including tops, pants, Bermuda-length shorts and skirts are considered minimally acceptable attire. Examples of inappropriate golf attire include: short shorts, tee shirts, undershirts, "slogan" tee shirts, tank tops, dungarees, cargo pants or shorts, designer jeans, and jeans. Members are responsible for informing their guests in advance of the Club’s dress code for both golf and the clubhouse:

  • Jeans of any style or color are not allowed on Club property. Pants made of white denim may be worn from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

  • Golf hats and visors must be worn with the visor facing forward and shirts must be tucked in and shoes tied. Members and guests must remove their golf hats when entering the Clubhouse.

  • Tee shirts and collarless shirts are not permitted, however, long-sleeve mock turtlenecks are allowed. Women’s golf shirts may either be collarless with sleeves or sleeveless with collars.

  • Appropriate golf shorts no shorter than mid-thigh. Apparel such as “Skorts” (skirt over short type apparel) must also comply with the mid-thigh length. Tennis skirts, warm-up suits, sports shorts and gym shorts are not permitted on the golf course.

  • Golf shirts must remain “tucked in” while on the course and throughout the Clubhouse.

Bag Drop is directly in front of the Golf Shop which is accessible through the stone pillars on Fuller Street.  Parking is available in the two lots across the street. 

Golf Carts cannot be taken across Fuller Street into the parking lots. Please use our bag drop area in front of the Golf Shop prior to parking.

Lockers are available for guests in both the men's and ladies' locker rooms. Please speak to the locker room attendants for a locker. Golf shoes with metal spikes are not permitted.

Practice Facilities

  • Please access and return from the Driving Range via the stone walkway beginning behind the 18th green - please do not walk across the fairways or take carts to the practice range.

  • Yellow golf balls must be used when hitting any metals/woods on the Driving Range.

  • Please aim at the target flags for the safety of 9-hole course players and neighboring homes.

Course Information

  • The MGA Rated speed of play is 4:03, please keep up with the group ahead of you.

  • Please replace divots or fill with divot mix and repair all ball marks on greens.

  • Please rake sand traps and do not walk on steep sections of the bunker faces.

  • Please do not go out-of-bounds to retrieve balls on holes 3, 4, & 11 of the 18-hole course.

Lightning Warning

Players must suspend play immediately after one long blast and return to the clubhouse.  Three short blasts will signal that conditions are all clear and players may resume play unless conditions become unplayable.  Please note that shelters on the course are rain shelters only, and are not grounded and do not provide lightning protection.  

ClubHouse Dress Code

To help ensure a pleasant atmosphere and proper decorum in keeping with that of a private family country club, the Board of Directors maintains a strict dress code policy. Members should not place fellow members or staff in the uncomfortable position of having to address dress code violations including having to request that members or guests leave due to violation of the policy. The purpose of the Club's dress code is not to dictate fashion, but rather simply to establish a standard of tasteful and traditional dress that will ensure an atmosphere of dignity and respect for fellow Members. Members are responsible for informing their guests in advance of the Club's dress code.  

  • Jeans of any style or color are not allowed on Club property.  Pants made of white denim may be worn from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

  • Ripped, faded, torn or distressed pants of any kind are considered unacceptable attire.

  • Gym shorts, sweat pants or workout attire are permitted only in the Fitness Room or when traveling directly to or departing directly from the Fitness Room.

  • Cargo Shorts and Cargo Pants are not allowed.

  • Proper golf attire as set forth for Golf is allowed in the Clubhouse and dining areas.

  • Formal attire, including tie and jacket, may be required for certain social events.  This will be noted on such event communications.

  • Absent a medical exception, hats and visors are not to be worn in the Clubhouse.  Women may wear dress hats.

  • Swim attire is not allowed in any area of the Club except at the swimming pool complex.

  • Tennis attire is permitted in the Grille Room during lunch only.  Cover ups are required for sleeveless (razorback - style) tennis shirts.

  • Tee shirts and collarless shirts are not allowed, long-sleeve mock turtlenecks and fashionable women's tops without collars are allowed.

  • Shoes or dress sandals must be worn in the Clubhouse at all times.

  • Golf and other polo style shirts must be tucked in.  Shirts specifically designed to be untucked (without tails) are acceptable.

Mobile Electronic Policy

Cellular phone calls are only permitted in the locker rooms and parking areas. Discrete use of silent electronic communication devices (e.g., texting and or emailing) is permitted in other areas of the club, including on the golf courses and in the tennis and pool areas. However, we ask that members and their guests limit the use of such devices and only use them in a manner that does not distract other members or their guests. It is the members' responsibility to convey the club's cell phone policy to their guests.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not allowed in the clubhouse with the exception of a defined area of the West Deck.

Tipping Policy

Tipping or giving members of the Brae Burn staff any other form of gratuity is prohibited.
